MAKEUP ESSENTIALS

Hey lovelies, and thank you for reading 🙂

Today I wanted to share my very favourite makeup items. I do have combination skin and it gets very oily during summer time and drier during the cold months! Sometimes it is a struggle to find the perfect products that will be suitable for my skin. It is also very sensitive and it can get irritated quite easily so using products that are gentle is key to me!

Here are my faves:

Foundation

As in foundation, I use Fresh Nude by the Body Shop in the Shade 050.  The formula of this liquid foundation is paraben free and it includes marula oil, which deeply penetrates into the skin for a healthy and glowy look. It works for all skin types, but since I got combination skin, it can make my face a little bit shiny (which I later on fix with powder). This product is light coverage but buildable, that means you can decide the amount/coverage. However, this foundation is not very long-lasting, and after a couple of hours (maybe 5-6) it starts to disappear from your face. Overall, it is the perfect foundation for people like me who don’t like thick/cakey foundations and prefer a more natural look.  Also, it inlcludes SPF 15, which makes it perfect for everyday use. This product is cruelty free and the price is £15.00.

Powder

I recently discovered translucent powder!!! I know, it sounds crazy coming from someone with combination/oily skin. But it has literally been a life saver! The one that I use is the Set Powder by Mac and it works perfectly for my skin type.  The format is very convenient so it helps you apply the right amount of product without wasting any of this bad boy. It makes my foundation last longer and prevents my face from getting shiny during the day. However, it is a little bit on the pricey side. I have not tried any other powders so I cannot compare it. The price of this product is £25.00.

Eyebrows

Ever since I started filling my eyebrows in (I’m not going to lie, it wasn’t that long ago) I have always used a pencil. I found it convenient: easy to use and affordable. But I use to get really REALLY frustrated in the mornings every time I tried to do my eyebrows and the pencil was not sharp enough and I couldn’t find a sharpener. To the point that it once made me cry!! I have recently switched to an eyebrow gel which I’m now obsessed with. It is much more precise and provides a higher brow definition.  I use the 2 in 1 bow and eye gel liner by The Body Shop in the shade Black. The price of this item is £10.00.

Highlighter

I think that we all agree that every makeup lover needs a bomb highlighter in their makeup bag, or AM I WRONG?? One of my very favourite compliments is when someone says my face is glowing!! My ultimate favourite highlighter is Trophe Wife by Fenty. It is a gold highlighter and it lasts all day long. Some people around me have told me they can see it from far away and even at night time!! How crazy is that??  It looks amazing on medium to tan skin tones. However, if you apply too much of this product it can look yellow rather than gold. It also requires a good highlighter brush to blend it properly into the skin. You can get this item in any Sephora location or online.  I purchased it last summer when I went to Spain to visit my family and I can’t wait to purchase more Fenty beauty! The price of this product is £26.00.

Concealer

My ultimate favourite concealer is Nars creamy concealer in the shade Honey. I use it on top of my foundation to conceal and highlight my under eyes when needed. I also use it as a primer to any eye shadow and it blends perfectly. It does not get cakey at all and makes my eye shadow brighter. Once again, I haven’t really used other concealers so I can’t compare it in regards to coverage. The price of this item is £24.00.

Lips

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

As on my lips I have been loving a crayon pencil by New Look in the shade Tofee Apple. It looks absolutely amazing on my lips, and the formula is long lasting.  I love matte liquid lipsticks but these can dry my lips out. Also when I eat it looks crazy and I have to be re-applying. That is why I love these crayon pencils, which don’t feel uncomfortable on my lips and are super easy to re-apply. However, they run out very quickly (extremely quickly) and you have to be re-purchasing it. The price of this item is £4.99.

Have you used any of this items? Let me know in the comments down below.

Thanks for reading and God bless,

Aby.
